Bandsaw

The Bandsaw with Professional Performance

Logosol BS350 saws two times faster than a chainsaw, and the kerf is only two millimeter wide.

The bandsaw is constructed on a cast aluminium frame to make it lightweight. The wheels are made of aluminium. This gives a low rotational mass which is easily started and stopped. The bandsaw is driven on a carriage with ball bearings which moves along the guide rail of the Logosol sawmill. The saw band is lubricated and cooled with water. We recommend that you saw the first slabs with a chainsaw if the log has been in contact with sand or soil. Using a chainsaw for the first slabs is also necessary when it comes to logs thicker than 40 cm (16"). The electric motor of 5 kW is of the same type as the motor in the electric saw E5000 and equipped with double overheating protection. The Logosol bandsaw is delivered with five 35 x 1,1 mm (108 ¾" x 1 5/6" x 1/16") saw bands with hardened teeth.

"The combination with a chainsaw eliminates the two weaknesses of the bandsaw: the saw band’s sensitivity to dirt on the timber, and its reduced precision when sawing thick logs."
